Introducing the DJI Matrice 4 series: a new compact and intelligent multi-sensor flagship drone series for industrial applications

The DJI Matrice 4 series offers advanced technologies and is designed for a variety of business sectors. The series consists of the Matrice 4T and Matrice 4E, both equipped with advanced features such as smart sensing and measurement capabilities using a laser rangefinder. Flight operations are now safer, more reliable and powered by AI, with significantly enhanced sensor capabilities. In addition, Matrice 4 series accessories have been greatly improved.

  • Matrice 4E: Ideal for geospatial applications such as surveying, mapping, construction and mining.

Built-in AI model

The built-in AI model can detect vehicles, ships and people during search and rescue operations or routine flights. It also supports switching to other models, expanding the scope of AI. In addition, it supports taking high-resolution raster images and features powerful tracking capabilities.

Observation range Registration

DJI Pilot 2 can mark the central position of the camera image and the observed territory. It displays the surveyed area on the map, which is especially useful for patrols and rescue operations in mountainous terrain without clear landmarks.

Night vision mode

The Matrice 4 Series has received a significant night mode upgrade. The Full-Color night vision now supports three modes and offers two levels of enhanced noise reduction. Equipped with an IR-Cut Filter and NIR auxiliary light, it effortlessly overcomes the challenges of darkness, keeping search and rescue targets clearly visible.

Smart photos in low light

The Matrice 4 Series cameras feature larger apertures and intelligent low-light capabilities, significantly improving performance and making operations at dusk and night more efficient.

NIR auxiliary light

The Matrice 4T features new NIR illumination technology, which can illuminate distances of up to 100 meters. This provides clear visibility of objects in dark environments, making it ideal for applications such as conservation.

Thermal imaging

The Matrice 4T supports infrared High-Res Mode, with image resolutions up to 1280 × 1024. It also offers Ultra-High Resolution, which makes small temperature differences visible for various operations. Each device is calibrated for temperature accuracy and uses a built-in temperature sensor for real-time temperature measurements.

Low-Light Fisheye Omnidirectional Sensing

The Matrice 4 Series has six high-definition low-light fisheye sensors, which significantly improves visual positioning and obstacle avoidance in low-light conditions. This enables automatic obstacle avoidance, intelligent rerouting and safe return of the drone in low-light urban environments.

Enhanced Medium Telecamera

The Matrice 4 Series is equipped with a medium telecamera, which extends its capabilities for medium-distance inspection tasks. During inspections of power lines or bridges, it can detect screws and cracks from a distance of 10 meters and clearly read instrument data at substations.

Super-resolution Telecamera

The Matrice 4 Series telecamera features significantly improved clarity, with 48 MP resolution, capturing incredible detail from signs up to 250 meters away. In addition, the Matrice 4T is equipped with an IR-Cut Filter, enabling 24/7 operations.

Foreground stabilization for Telephoto images

Enhanced telephoto stabilization makes foreground subjects stable and clearly visible in telephoto shots at 10x zoom or higher. In scenarios such as public safety and inspections, details of subjects are clearly visible.

Electronic Dehazing

In fog or atmospheric humidity, Electronic Dehazing offers three modes (Low, Medium, High) to enhance the image clarity of the Matrice 4 Series, tailored to different operational environments and requirements.

Precision mapping: Time-saving and Efficient

  • Fast shooting at 0.5-second intervals
    The Matrice 4E 's wide-angle camera supports fast shooting at 0.5-second intervals in both orthophoto and oblique photography modes, significantly speeding up aerial mapping from multiple angles. The mapping speed can reach 21 meters per second, greatly improving efficiency.
  • 5-directional oblique shooting
    The Matrice 4 series supports new 5-direction oblique shooting. The gimbal can intelligently rotate and shoot from multiple angles, achieving the effect of multiple shots in one flight and significantly improving the efficiency of oblique photography.
  • 3-way ortho shooting
    The Matrice 4E supports 3-way ortho shooting, allowing lateral shooting during ortho-collecting tasks. This reduces lateral overlap and enables mapping for an area of 2.8 square kilometers in one flight.

Smart 3D imaging and Precision Modeling.

The Matrice 4E supports Smart 3D Capture, which allows rough models to be created directly on the remote control. From the raw model, accurate mapping paths can be quickly generated close to the surface of a structure.

Distortion correction and Precision enhancement

Distortion Correction 2.0 provides accurate in-camera distortion correction with a residual distortion of less than 2 pixels. This significantly increases reconstruction accuracy when combined with DJI Terra.

Safe flying, worry-free operations

The Matrice 4 Series is equipped with DJI RTK modules and offers GNSS+Vision Fusion Positioning for safe Return-to-Home even without GNSS signals.

New high point in video transmission

The O4 Enterprise video transmission system sets new standards, with a range of up to 25 kilometers and download bandwidths of 20 MB/s. Signal stability is further enhanced by the optional DJI Cellular Dongle 2.
